Classroom Update: Jan 22nd-26th

Highlights from this week:
-We dug into informational text and looked at the author's purpose behind informational writing.
-In PLTW students continued to build their robots and constructed additional parts to make their robots unique.
-We finished our math unit and began our end of unit testing.
-Students finished their mid-year NWEA this week. We are done with NWEA until the end of the year!
-Our genius hour research papers are in full swing! Students finalized their big questions and thesis statements and are now finding their sources and starting to take notes on their findings.
Upcoming dates, events, and notes:
-Bingo night is tomorrow! Please join us for a great evening.
-We have an early release day this Wednesday.
-We have a Red Wings assembly this Friday.
-Winter survival day is coming up! We will attend winter survival on Thursday, February 8th. Please read below for more information on this fun, educational opportunity.
Your child will be coming home tomorrow with a copy of their groups menu along with the list of what each child has agreed to bring. Your child should have already spoken with you about this menu as it was part of their homework for multiple days last week. Please return this form SIGNED by an adult. This signature will show that you agree to the menu, what your child is responsible for bringing for their group, and that they are allowed to eat all the items listed on the menu. If you are not comfortable with your child bringing or having something from the menu, please tell your child and email me so that their group can adjust.
