We had a very unique week with not only a snow day but an early release day due to the weather conditions. Thank you for responding quickly on Wednesday so that we could make sure your child got home safely.

Highlights from this week:

-In reading we have been studying biographies and text features. This week we compared different biographies to notice similarities and differences.

-We had another debate to kick off our week! This time students worked together to create a compromise that the whole debate group could agree on.

-We had a very special presentation from aerospace engineering students at U of M. They showed us their hovercrafts, talked us through their design/trial process, and then gave us the chance to try to operate them.

-On Friday we visited Clague for a musical performance. It was our first chance to see what middle school is like!

Upcoming events:

-On Friday we have a school-wide PJ day along with a winter break reading celebration in our room. Students may wear their PJs to school and bring along a pillow, blanket, and flash light if they choose to. We will be building reading forts with sheets and blankets too so students may bring in extra sheets or blankets to help with this construction. Hot chocolate will be provided as a special treat!

-If your child is interested in participating in science olympiads, now is the time to sign up! Please read through the information below to see if this is right for your child.
