November is underway and is a busy month for us! I've met with many of you the past couple of weeks and will see the rest of you tomorrow for your conferences. It has been a great opportunity to discuss your child in the classroom and how to best support them.
A few take away points from conferences that I've heard from you are that you would like a book list at your child's reading level and that you would like comprehension questions that you can use at home as your child reads. In response to these questions, I will be providing both of these resources in your child's report card so that you have these extra supports at home.
Remember:
There is no school on Tuesday this week!
A recap of our week:
-We started a new word study unit about why we should care about our world. We started this week with a very fun reader's theatre!
-In science we created our own x-rays and compared our hand bones to the bones of a bat's wing
-We started our new writing unit about persuasive essays.
-In reading, we have been working hard on our reading letters and have started to work on plot structure in reading groups.
-We had a visit from an Ann Arbor restaurant and chef that used our vegetables from the King Garden to create an amazing chilled soup for us to try! It was delicious!!
