Last week highlights:
-We learned about our heart by checking our heart rate during various activities and we noticed our lungs and breathing function by feeling the difference between our average breath and one taken through a straw.
-We worked hard to expand the King Rain Garden. It was chilly but we were lucky enough to not get rained on!
-We learned about and put together the digestive system in groups and created life size examples of them!
-We had a wonderful assembly about the new King Constitution that delegates from every classroom helped to create. We will be signing it this week!
-Pajamas and personal narratives on Friday was wonderful! Students were able to read, listen, and comment on each other's work. Thank you to the family members that we able to join in our celebration!
Notes for this week:
It is starting to get cold outside and that means that students should be bundled up! Please make sure your child is sent to school with proper cold weather gear: coats, hats, gloves.
Our nurse finally gave us the green light to have healthy snacks! Your child may begin to bring in healthy options other than just fruits and veggies.
DONATION OPPORTUNITY:
With germs spreading around King as temperatures get colder, it is important that we keep our classroom as clean as possible. We recently ran out of clorox wipes and would welcome any donations of wipes that you would be willing to send in.
A note from Mrs. Vosters about Space Camp fundraising:
During the month of November, students are to talk to family, friends, and neighbors and request that they begin saving their returnable cans and bottles for them. On a date determined by you (but before Nov. 30th) you'll collect the cans and bottles from these people. On November 30th, from 3:30pm-4:30pm, you will give all your cans and bottles to 5th grade families in the King parking lot. (If it is easier for your family to return the cans and bottles ahead of time and turn in the return slip, that's fine as well.) Cans and bottles cannot be brought into the building (for health and safety reasons) and can only be turned in during our designated time on November 30th. Thank you for your support as your child begins their fundraising experience! -Mrs. Vosters
