We have a big week ahead of us. Please read everything below for an update on our classroom and information on upcoming events this week.

Highlights from this past week:

-We dissected bones to see marrow, muscle, and more!

-We introduced traditional U.S. multiplication this week and some brave classmates tried out problems on the board to help teach the class this new strategy.

-During word study, we tried a new discussion strategy--a fishbowl

-We are just about done with our personal narratives! We spent quite a bit of time typing this week.

Important information for this week:

-Conferences start this week! Many of you have conferences on Tuesday or Wednesday. If you are unsure of your date or time, please email me for clarification. I have decided to make these conferences adult only. Please do not bring your child to the conference. They will be filling out a self reflection that we will discuss during our meeting. Other information that will be covered during this meeting include reading level, math fact fluency, writing habits, behavior, and more.

-On Wednesday we will be working in the rain garden. We have been learning about and preparing for this lesson for a few weeks now. Please make sure your child wears clothing on Wednesday that could get dirty while we work in the garden.

-Wednesday is an early release day. School will end at 1:29pm.

-Friday will be a special day: pajamas and personal narratives day!! Students may wear pajamas to school in celebration of completing our personal narratives. On Friday afternoon we would love for you to join us to hear some of our amazing stories. We will begin sharing our writing shortly after 2pm and conclude by 2:40pm. If you would like to come to our celebration, please list your name on the sign up below so that I have an idea of how many people we may have attend.
