I would like to start this week's post with a big THANK YOU! Thank you to those of you that were able to attend curriculum night and the first Space Camp meeting. This year is off to a great start.
Here are a few highlights from this week:
-We planted microgreens, picked carrots, and helped weed the King garden to get it ready for the big garden tour that took place this weekend. Students also got to sample watermelon from the garden.
-We completed our first math response and discussion where students had to think about the area of a quilt and how two different students solved the original problem. A2 virtual students got started on their work this week too!
-Mrs. Cooper visited our room and read her book about being a super hero to the class. We discussed traits of a super hero and how we can be super heroes every day!
-We have been digging into the classroom library and have started to think about what we might want to write about for our personal narratives.
If you missed the sign up for conferences, I've included the link below:
A quick note from Mrs. Cooper: We ask that children come to school without games, toys, electronics and trading cards. School is a place to interact with peers. During recess, we encourage students to exercise their large muscles to improve their learning. Bringing their own toys, games and trading cards is generally not conducive to such play.
Sometimes families decide the child is to have a phone. If this is the case please make sure s/he knows to keep it in the backpack until s/he leave school property or school bus.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Mrs. Cooper
