Arts Integration
Nature has always been important to me growing up on a small farm. My love for the outdoors has evolved into a passion for gardening, hiking and camping. While living out west, I was able to hike the national parks in Utah and many in California and Nevada. I hope to continue this passion by exploring more of Michigan and the Midwest!
After being a yogi for a few years, I took on the challenge of becoming a certified children's yoga teacher and began using it in my classroom. I have found that using yoga in the classroom helps students focus, deal with stress, and connect to one another.

About Me
This will be my third year of teaching and my first year at King! I am thrilled to be joining such a wonderful community and team. Before coming to King, I received my bachelors from the University of Michigan and taught 3rd grade in Las Vegas for two years at an arts integrated elementary school.
I have an adorable 1 year old puppy named Henry that keeps me pretty busy! When I have free time, I love getting outside to hike, garden, or travel to a new place. I am also a HUGE Michigan football and hockey fan. Go Blue!

I grew up in the small town of Milan, Mi on a farm with my parents and my older brother. Now my brother, Ryan, lives in Santa Monica, California and is a sports journalist. In addition to my brother and I, my parents have two golden retrievers--Brady and Bo. As you can tell by their names, everyone in my family loves U of M!

I have always been passionate about the arts. Throughout grade school and college, I was involved in theatre and music and still use some of these techniques in my classroom! At my previous school, an arts integration academy, I was privileged to be trained by multiple Kennedy Center artists on some of the best arts integration techniques. I love using these in the classroom and find that it allows children to really dig deep into their learning.
